I’m just starting lessons. What is a “RIFF”?
Hey Theo,
Here’s wikipedia’s definition:
a riff is an ostinato figure: a repeated chord progression, pattern, refrain or melodic figure, often played by the rhythm section instruments or solo instrument, that forms the basis or accompaniment of a musical composition.
I think the easiest way to learn what a riff is though, is by just looking at all of the riffs above.
