- Thanksgiving has come and gone here in New York. But that only means one thing: The holiday season has begun. Over the next few weeks I’ll will be releasing 4 or 5 lessons on a great holiday-themed piece to learn to help your overall technique.
As some of you probably know, I find one of the best ways to break out of the box on the guitar is to apply techniques from other instruments onto the guitar. This piece is a great example of that.
Concerto grosso in G minor, op.6 no. 8- Arcangelo Corelli
This piece was commissioned in 1714, and is commonly called the Christmas Concerto. Today we are going to look at the Cello part of the 2nd Movement. In part 1 we will learn the first 8 measures. Make sure to use alternate picking. Who knew a cello part written 300 years ago could sound so sweet with some distortion.
